A realidade é sempre violenta em qualquer época.

No momento em que eventos recentes colocaram o debate em torno da violência na sociedade e nos media de volta à ordem do dia, justifica-se recordar Aldo Tambellini e o seu BLACK TV, obra hipnótica, sensorialmente austera e de profundo sentido crítico às possibilidades e ameaças da chamada Era da Informação. Numa subversão pura de imagens e sons de arquivo da sua época (a Guerra do Vietname, o assassinato de Robert Kennedy, os motins raciais de Chicago em 1968, ...), aqui não é dada ao espectador hipótese de sentimento de indiferença.

Reality sure is violent in any age.

With the discussion around violent societies, and how they are displayed by the mass media, back to the public opinion in the wake of recent events, it is fair to remember Aldo Tambellini’s BLACK TV, a hypnotic, sensorially austere and critically aware feature about the possibilities and threats of the so-called Information Age. With a pure subversion of archive images and sounds of its era (the Vietnam War, the Robert Kennedy assassination, the Chicago riots in 1968, ...), indifference is not an option in the eyes of the beholder.
